Changelog

What changed, and when

Written by the people who made the change. Fixes sit alongside features because a fix is usually what somebody was waiting for.

Version 1.4

July 16, 2026

Share a dashboard with a link

  • Pro and Team can now turn on a read-only share link for any dashboard. Anyone with the link sees the charts and takeaways, no account needed, and you can turn it off at any time.
  • Added CSV export of a dashboard: the takeaways and the aggregated data behind every chart, in one file.
  • Fixed a case where a column of years, like 2021 to 2024, was read as a measure instead of a date axis.

Version 1.3

June 3, 2026

Better charts for wide files

  • Files with many columns now escalate to a frontier model automatically, which picks a tighter set of charts. The routing table on How the AI works is generated from the code and shows the rule.
  • Outlier detection now runs on every numeric column with an interquartile test, and flags the row it came from, not just the value.
  • Category charts cap cleanly at twelve slices with an Other bucket, instead of drawing a bar chart with two hundred bars.

Version 1.2

April 21, 2026

Takeaways that cannot invent a number

  • Every figure in a takeaway is now checked against the numbers Plotwell computed from your rows. Any takeaway that cites a figure we cannot trace to the data is dropped before you see it.
  • Added the outlier and trend flags next to the charts.
  • The dashboard now shows the columns Plotwell read and the type it gave each one, so you can check its reading.
